Born on 20th June 1956, in Middlesex and at the age of two moved to south London were I lived until I left for Plymouth. Attended Gordonbrock Primary and then went on to Brockley County Grammar School.
I left at 18 and went to work for the Civil Service (Health Dept) for 3 years. In 1977, on a whim, I left London and arrived at Plymouth to do an HND in Computer Studies. After a year I decided that computers were not the thing for me so left and went to the College of St. Mark and St. John, also in Plymouth.
After qualifying I started teaching at Montpelier Junior School in the city and once settled there I became the subject leader for ICT, Games and PE, DT.
In 1998 I applied for a deputy headship at Rosemellin School in Camborne, Cornwall and was successful. That has led to my current role of acting headteacher with responsibility for 35 staff and 300 pupils. There have been many opportunities to be involved in the wider educational community and probably the highlight was being chosen to go to Holland to work with the European Space Agency.
I currently live in Camborne with my wife and children and have continued my interest in computing as well as enjoying a variety of sports. I have run the London marathon three times and enjoy golf and tennis. I am also one of the few remaining supporters of Charlton Athletic!
The opportunity to be able to contribute to the Community Interest Company means that I can support the work of my fellow directors and be able to help in driving this project forward to a successful conclusion.
